Who can come?
HackRU welcomes undergraduate and graduate students of all majors, backgrounds, and skill levels to come create. Unfortunately, if you are under 18, you will not be able to attend , unless you are also a Rutgers student. Additionally, high school students who will be 18 by HackRU are allowed to register.
What's the application process?
HackRU will run registration on a first-come-first-serve basis for those with qualifying applications. That means registration can fill up quickly, so make sure to register early and answer questions thoroughly!
What should I bring?
You should pack all the essentials for a sleepover, plus a photo ID with proof of age, as well as the essentials for hacking (laptop, hardware, other materials you will use for your project). MLH will be providing hardware the day of the event so please check the list on our website before packing. HackRU shall be providing food, snacks, and drinks throughout the whole event so no need to worry about packing that. Weapons or anything that can be construed as a weapon, alcohol, illegal drugs, and animals are prohibited. Use your common sense about what to bring. If you wouldn't bring it on a plane or to school, please DO NOT bring it here.
Will there be reimbursements?
HackRU is considering offering reimbursements on a first come first serve basis to students who do not attend Rutgers University - New Brunswick. Please note that putting down where you are traveling from does not guarantee you any travel reimbursement for Spring HackRU 2018. If you are accepted, you will be notified if you qualify for reimbursement based on region and availability.
